Harry Potter Miniature Sweets from Honeydukes :)

"Honeydukes Sweetshop is one of the most famous wizarding confectioneries in the world. It sells wizarding sweets of all descriptions, including Chocolate Frogs, Liquorice Wands, Pepper Imps, Chocoballs, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, Fizzing Whizzbees, Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum, Toothflossing Stringmints, Ice Mice, Cockroach Clusters, Jelly Slugs, Blood Lollipops, Acid Pops and Sugar Quills, among others. They also sell creamy chunks of nougat, shimmering pink squares of coconut ice, fat, honey-coloured toffees, and hundreds of different kinds of chocolate.

The owners, Ambrosius Flume and his wife, live in a flat above the shop. There is a trapdoor in the cellar of Honeydukes, which connects to a secret passage which leads to a statue of a one-eyed witch on the third floor of Hogwarts. In the 'Prisoner of Azkaban', Fred and George Weasley give Harry the Marauder's Map) which he uses to enter Hogsmeade through the passage into Honeydukes."

I showed you guys my plans for a dessert trolley and cabinet in the Honeydukes theme, but what I had planned has all changed.  What happened?  I didn't do my homework before I planned.  Bummer, hate it when I do that.  Upon a little movie watching (Prizoner of Azkaban) I discovered the finish on my pieces was completely wrong in a major way.  Why?  Nearly every single surface that wasn't candy in Honeydukes was splashed with an aged aqua blue-green color.  I mean everything!  Here's what I mean:
See what I mean?  Wow would my items have stuck out in the worst way in the natural wood finish.  Which left me one option...to take this:

and turn it into this:
Inside night pictures being blurry and all, not the best view of this.
Then I turned this finish on the trolley:

                                    into this:

I'm so not done yet, the weird twisty things will be holding candy cones that look like the ones in the above Honeydukes pictures.  And like I said, my night pictures are horrid!  I'll retake these tomorrow in natural light outside.  I just wanted to show you all where I'm headed with this.  The general outcry for orders on this set overwhelmed me at first, matter of fact I'm so buried now under custom orders I may never see the light of day, lol!  Whew.  And I haven't even started making all the different candies yet!  This is so far from done, so keep watching for updates!  I basically worked on finishes today and not a lot else.  All that detail painting takes me forever because painting is my Achilles heel :)  I have to really work at it to make sure it's as perfect as I can get it.

Don't know if you can see it well, but on top of the cabinet is a Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean plant!  Gosh I wish you guys could see all the detail in my sucky pictures!  Argh!  That makes me so mad they don't turn out in here.

Got a little pumpkin overflowing with still warm from the cooking, freshly made pumpkin juice :)  Not that you can see the darn thing in this shot :(  Oh wells, tomorrow I'll have to head outside with my testy little camera!  It only likes outside light.

Stay tuned for more pictures and to see what I do with these two items!

See you back here tomorrow night with new pics!  I need to go to bed ya'll!  Yikes!

Ok, sort of clearer pictures that still don't please me but for now I give up :)  Too not with it to care since these aren't the finished shots anyway.  How's a girl supposed to work without first having her coffee?  Sheesh.  And it's COLD outside right now, lol.  I'm going to work on some candy today so check in tomorrow to see what I came up with :)  Mini hugs from the chilly Midwest!
